Build strength, skills, and confidence
at-home for all levels.
At StrongGirls, the safety of your child is our highest priority.
Gymnastics is an inherently physical activity and involves risk of injury. To help families train as safely as possible, we provide the following guidelines — which must be followed at all times:
All children must be supervised by a responsible adult during any StrongGirls Edge training.
Children should NEVER attempt skills unsupervised.
Parents are responsible for knowing their child’s abilities and monitoring safety at all times.
Before beginning any gymnastics training — online or in-person — you should consult with your child’s physician to determine if participation is appropriate.
Children with prior injuries, medical conditions, or physical limitations should not participate without written clearance from a qualified healthcare provider.
StrongGirls Edge is an online supplemental program and does not replace medical advice or professional evaluation.
Always use proper gymnastics mats and equipment suitable for your child’s level and the skills being practiced. Thin mats (such as yoga mats, tumbling strips, foldable “play mats,” or low-density foam mats) are NOT sufficient for skill work and should not be used. Many mats sold on Amazon or general marketplaces are NOT adequate for gymnastics skills and do not provide proper impact absorption.
For most skills:
→ Use at least
4” thick high-density panel mats
for basic progressions
→ Use
8” competition-grade safety mats
for aerial skills, walkovers, back handsprings, and any inversion skills
Recommended reputable gymnastics equipment suppliers include:
AAI (American Athletic Inc.)
Spieth Anderson
Norbert’s
Carolina Gym Supply
Other certified gymnastics equipment manufacturers
A safe, clear space must be used — free of furniture, sharp edges, or hard surfaces. Training should only occur on proper mats, in an appropriate environment.

Children should only attempt skills that are appropriate for their current level and ability.
Skills taught in StrongGirls Edge Plus ($19 tier) are self-guided → Parents are responsible for monitoring safe progression.
Skills taught in StrongGirls Premium ($99 tier) include video feedback from coaches to ensure proper progression. We recommend this option for families without in-person gymnastics coaching.
It is strongly advised that children have each new skill level reviewed and approved by a certified gymnastics coach before advancing.
By participating in StrongGirls Edge, you acknowledge that gymnastics involves risk of injury.
StrongGirls and its coaches are not responsible for injuries incurred while training.
Parents/guardians accept full responsibility for creating a safe training environment and ensuring proper supervision and medical clearance.
We are here to support your family in raising StrongGirls — safely and intentionally.
