Pre-team Gymnastics

Silver Stars 3

For girls who love gymnastics and are ready for more challenge, structure, and time in the gym.

Pre‑Team (Silver Stars 3) is the bridge between our Recreational Silver Stars classes and our Golden Stars competitive team.

It’s for girls who are thriving in rec classes, asking for more gymnastics, and ready for a little more commitment.

What is Silver Stars 3 (Pre-Team)?

Silver Stars 3 is our Pre‑Team level.

Girls reach Pre‑Team after mastering the 12 key skills in Silver Stars 1 and the 12 key skills in Silver Stars 2.

Once they’ve checked all those boxes, they automatically move into Silver Stars 3.

In Pre‑Team, your daughter will:

  • Train in girls‑only, small‑group classes

  • Continue 60‑minute sessions (55 minutes of work + 5 minutes of coach‑to‑parent time)

  • Build deeper strength, flexibility, and clean technique

  • Start learning the expectations and habits needed for Team

Pre-Team FAQ

Is Pre‑Team right for my daughter?

Pre‑Team is typically a good fit if your daughter:

- Is currently in Silver Stars 2 and completed most or all her skills

- Picks up skills quickly and wants more time in the gym

- Listens well, works hard, and loves being challenged

- Is curious about “team,” routines, and meets

Placement in Silver Stars 3 is by skill progression and coach recommendation. You don’t have to guess – we’ll guide you based on what we see in class.

How do levels & skills work?

We use a simple, transparent system so you always know where she is:

Silver Stars 1: first 12 foundational skills

Silver Stars 2: next 12 skills

Silver Stars 3 (Pre‑Team): advanced set preparing for Team

Coaches track her skills in class. When she can consistently perform all 12 skills in a level, we celebrate her and move her up automatically. Think of it like belts in martial arts – clear steps and big moments when she levels up.

What is the training commitment & schedule?

Pre‑Team girls train 3 hours per week.

Tuition is higher than Rec because she’s training more often, not because the hourly rate changes. More hours = faster progress and better preparation for Team.

Exact days and times vary by location.

What will she she learn in Pre‑Team?

On all four events (floor, beam, bars, vault), we focus on:

-Clean basics and strong body shapes

-Strength, flexibility, and conditioning

-Simple routines and performance skills

-Confidence performing skills in front of others

-Grit, focus, and being a good teammate

The goal of Silver Stars 3 is simple: give her the skills, strength, and habits she needs so that when she’s ready, she can step confidently into Golden Stars 1 Team.

What is the path from Rec to Team?

1. Recreational – Silver Stars 1 & 2
Learn foundations, fall in love with gymnastics, and master 24 key skills.

2. Pre‑Team – Silver Stars 3
Extra hours, higher expectations, and preparation for Golden Stars Team.
Once she has the Pre‑Team skills, she
moves into Golden Stars 1.

3. Team – Golden Stars 1–10
Competitive team levels. Golden Stars 1 is the first team level; girls can choose whether or not they want to compete in meets once they’re ready.

Pre‑Team is the on‑ramp to Team. If she sticks with it and gets her skills, she will move into Golden Stars 1. Competing at meets is encouraged but not required right away.

How do we get into Pre-Team?

Girls move into Silver Stars 3 after completing all 12 skills in Silver Stars 2. Coaches will talk with you when they see she’s ready, or you can ask us about an evaluation.

Does Pre-Team guarantee a spot on team?

Yes. Pre‑Team (Silver Stars 3) is designed to prepare girls for Golden Stars 1 Team.

As she builds the required skills and consistency in Pre‑Team, she will move into Golden Stars 1. From there, she can choose with you and her coaches when she is ready to start competing in meets.

What if the commitment feels like too much once we start Pre-Team?

Before moving into Pre‑Team, we’ll talk through the time and commitment with you so there are no surprises.

If life changes or you’re unsure, we’ll work with you to adjust her training plan, but our goal is to keep her progressing – not send her backward to a level where she’s bored and stops growing.

How do we start if we're new to StrongGirls?

Begin with our $49, 2‑class intro in the Recreational program. After her trial classes, we’ll talk with you about whether Pre‑Team is a good next step.
